Actually, visualising sound concerns composers, as digital technology for music and image converge in operations and processing methods. For example, Max/MSP now comes with a video module (Jitter) and video ca be created and manipulated in Pure Data thanks to GEM

Sound visualisation is explored in several disciplines and each of them open different perspectives :

Started at the end of 2004 within the AFIM, the workgroup on sound visualisation, had, in a first step, make the state of art of the question. The research developments have been presented during conferences and meetings (2006, january 9th meeting, Jim 2005, SMC 2006). The publication of proceedings will close these works.

The workgroup activities are open to any researcher of the scientific and artistic community which want to share his/her work.
